Shop and Road Service Technician

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a repair and maintenance role, preferably for lift trucks and other material handling and access equipment
  • 282E, 310S, 310T orn421A accreditation, or working towards one of them

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and customers
  • Ability to use workshop equipment such as diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain clean and efficient shop space or service van
  • Ability to safely complete required maintenance and repairs within appropriate timeframes
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical, and propane systems
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing equipment problems and completing the required repairs
  • Performing preventative maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment
  • Performing annual safety certification on a variety of equipment
  • Managing and accounting for hours worked, and parts consumed to work orders in a timely manner to allow for efficient invoicing of services provided
  • Keeping up to date with WHMIS, Health and Safety regulations, and other training as required
